    [ltr]Australia will send a military aircraft to monitor North Korean ships suspected of transporting prohibited goods in violation of UN sanctions, Australia's defense minister said on Saturday.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The announcement came a day after North and South Korean leaders pledged at a historic summit meeting to work for the complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. But US President Donald Trump, who is also expected to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, said he would continue to press Pyongyang through sanctions imposed in a bid to rein in North Korea's missile and nuclear programs.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Australia also promised to continue economic and diplomatic pressure on North Korea.[/ltr]
    [ltr]"Australia will send a P-8A Poseidon naval patrol plane to Japan to contribute to the enforcement of UN Security Council resolutions in our region," Bain said in a press release.[/ltr]
