    [rtl]The Department of Investigation in the Integrity Commission, on Monday, "the issuance of a prison sentence in absentia for the former Governor of Diyala (Abdel Nasser Al-Montaser Bela Mohammed Al-Mahdawi) and former director of one of the satellite channels in the province, to inflict damage to public funds by more than one billion dinars."[/rtl]


    [rtl]The Chamber explained the details of the absentee court ruling issued by the first Diyala Criminal Court against the convicted fugitives for intentional damage to the interests and funds of the province. The first defendant granted the second defendant the authority to negotiate with the company entrusted with the project of processing and operating the satellite channel, The second defendant exempted the company from any damage or malfunction of the materials contrary to the controls, causing damage to public money estimated at (1,119,525,000) billion dinars.[/rtl]


    [rtl]The court, after reviewing the statements of the legal representative of Diyala province, who supported violations by the fugitive accused and requested the complaint against them, and the administrative investigation and the merits of the project, reached sufficient conviction and sentenced each of them to seven years imprisonment, in accordance with the provisions of Article 340 of the Penal Code , In terms of Articles 47, 48 and 49 thereof.[/rtl]


    [rtl]The decision of their sentence included the issuance of an arrest and support order for their movable and immovable property, and the right of the affected party (Diyala governorate) to review the civil courts;[/rtl]
