US company wins contract to develop Majnoon oil field
KBR announced that it has received a contract from the Iraqi Basra Oil Company to develop the Majnoon oil field in Basra, southern Iraq.
"Under the contract, the company will provide comprehensive management of the project and multiple engineering support, procurement management and construction management services to POC under a two-year extension contract," the company said on its website.
The Iraqi Oil Ministry has announced earlier that the value of the contracts with KBR and the Chinese group Antonoli amounted to 118 million dollars in addition to other secondary contracts while the Bank of Canada is expected to take its operations in the Majnoon field of Shell at the end of June next
