(AFP) - The Director of the Proizhakan International Border Crossing (KRG) in the Kurdistan region of Iraq has announced the start of a project to build a 125-hectare industrial city in Proizkhan with the participation of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
"The design of this industrial city has been completed and the implementation process will soon begin with the participation of an Iranian private sector company and a company from the Kurdistan region of Iraq," he said in a press statement.
He added that the decision to build this industrial city was taken during the visit by the head of Kurdistan regional government to Tehran last year.
In another aspect of his statement, the director of the Proizhakan international crossing explained that the transatlantic trucks will start from next week crossing from this border port to the Kurdistan region of Iraq and said that the preparations for this have been taken.
"He said that the development of the Proizkhan border crossing constitutes an important step in the development of relations and exchange Economic relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
The Proizkhan crossing is one of the border crossings in Sulaymaniyah to exchange goods between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
