The Ministry of Communications confirmed the expansion of Internet ports entering the country through border ports with neighboring countries, in coordination with Jordanian companies.
The spokesman of the ministry Hazem Mohammed Ali said in a statement to the "morning": The cooperation between the General Company for the services of the International Information Network and the International Network to discuss the activation of the port of Trebil border with Jordan because of its great importance in securing the Internet capacity entering the country.
He stressed that the aim of securing the Internet capacity entering Iraq through the port is to ensure the increase of incoming capacities and secure with Jordan through opening the prospect of cooperation in the field of informatics, and expressed the hope to conclude a contract with a group of Jordanian companies to overcome the capacity through their land and sea outlets after The infrastructure owned by these companies was reviewed.
He disclosed that his ministry has already secured the Internet capacity through Iraq's land and sea border ports within the project of interconnection of Iraq with neighboring countries, to avoid interruption of service or the occurrence of any technical defect, as happened during the past period.
He pointed out that the ministry has secured the Internet service through the sea ports, in addition to the land ports Badra, Shalamjah, Safwan, Arar and Ibrahim Al-Khalil, stressing that in the event of any defect or cut will be working alternative outlets. [/rtl]
