The Ministry of Oil announced on Sunday the implementation of a memorandum of understanding between the Basra Oil Company and Chevron to develop fields in the south of the country.
"Executive officials from the two companies have signed an agreement that outlines the development program for the fields, including studies of reservoir survey and extraction," a ministry statement read by the economy newspaper said.
The memorandum of understanding allows Chevron to conduct surveys and studies on oil sites and installations and to help the two Iraqi companies improve their technical, administrative and financial performance.
