In its latest request, the [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/616/%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%88%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%AA %D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D8%AA%D8%AD%D8%AF%D8%A9]United States[/url] called for freezing the assets of the Russian shipping companies Primorje Maritime Logistics and Goodzon Shiping, which they accuse of dealing with [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/1417/%D9%83%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%A7 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B4%D9%85%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%8A%D8%A9]North Korea and[/url] blacklisting them.
US officials say the two companies own the oil tanker MV Patriot, which has twice moved its oil cargo to two [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/1417/%D9%83%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%A7 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B4%D9%85%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%8A%D8%A9]North Korean[/url] oil tankers this year.
On Tuesday, the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on the Russian companies and the six ships.
The UN sanctions committee should consider the US request by Aug. 29, diplomats said, expecting Russia to object to the measure.
On Aug. 10, Russia and China blocked a [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/616/%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%88%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%AA %D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D8%AA%D8%AD%D8%AF%D8%A9]US[/url] request to add a Russian bank, one person and two North Korean entities to the UN blacklist.
