The United States will continue to work with its partners and allies to counter destabilizing Iranian activities in the region, a White House official said.
"President Trump warned of these harmful Iranian activities throughout the Middle East, including Iraq," the official said, quoting the official, who did not reveal his identity.
This comes on the sidelines of press reports that the leader of the group "Asaib Ahl al-Haq" in Iraq, Qais al-Khazali, received training in Iranian camps during the Iraq war.
The minutes of US investigations with Khazali, kept secret for 10 years, revealed how Iran moved events in Iraq from behind a curtain after 2003 by providing financial and military support to militia leaders.
Khazali revealed training provided by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards to Iraqi "Shiite" militias in three bases near Tehran, including the base of "Imam Khomeini."
