    Gold rallied on Friday as the dollar fell against the yen after a report suggested US President Donald Trump might raise trade issues with Japan as investors fear a new round of US-China countervailing duties and fees.
    Gold rose 0.1 percent in spot trade to $ 1200.88 an ounce by 0645 GMT, after hitting a one-week high on Thursday at $ 1206.98 an ounce and heading for a third consecutive week of gains.
    Gold futures in US futures rose 0.2 percent to $ 1206.40 an ounce.
    The dollar fell against the yen after a CNBC television report on Thursday said Trump told a Wall Street Journal columnist he could raise trade issues with Japan.
    Among other precious metals, silver fell 0.1 percent in spot trade to $ 14.10 an ounce.
    Platinum rose 0.1 percent to $ 791.60 an ounce, while palladium fell 0.4 percent to $ 969.99 an ounce.
