Parliamentary Finance: Abdul Mahdi agreed to amend the budget to gain time only
The Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed on Saturday that the failure to re-draft the draft federal budget 2019 and the approval of Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi for changes within the parliament, is to gain time only.
The committee member Ahmed al-Saffar said in a press statement that "the government committee will receive the parliamentary committee's observations prepared by the representatives of the blocs and provinces respectively," noting that "Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, the request to keep the budget and not return to the government, Parliament asked, to earn time only. "
He added that "the parliamentary committee will meet with the government committee during the current week to develop the remarks of deputies and representatives of the provinces and blocs under discussion," noting that "if the draft project is changed from its current form, the budget will be accepted and proceed the voting process in accordance with legal contexts and take the budget its constitutional path to legislation, Otherwise, it will respond to the government to draft a new budget. "
The Presidency of the House of Representatives directed the Finance Committee to hold a joint meeting with the State Committee and officials of the Ministry of Finance on Sunday and next Monday, to discuss on current and investment expenditures and borrowing and the price of oil barrels and carriers and the development of regions in line with the government program.
