Parliamentary work: wages of foreign workers in oil companies reach astronomical amounts

The Labor and Social Affairs Committee on Sunday revealed that the wages of foreign workers in oil companies reached about 20 thousand dollars, indicating that they are working on legislation to reduce the number of workers and replace them with the Iraqi labor.
"The foreign workers of the oil companies are overpriced and corrupt," said Hussein Saeed, a member of the committee. "Iraq has engineers capable of carrying out the work of foreign companies, as the Iraqi engineer receives 5 percent of what he earns from a foreign worker, .
"The Labor and Social Affairs Committee will work to reduce the number of foreign workers after the preparation of an extensive study to organize a bill to vote in parliament."
He stressed that "the coming days will witness a significant reduction in the size of foreign labor in Iraq, especially that the degree of one functional foreign worker in the international oil companies operating in Iraq equivalent to 300 degrees functional."
He pointed out that "the wages of foreign companies are paid through the Ministry of Oil," noting that "there is fake labor, where the foreign worker gets a monthly wage of $ 20,000, while companies get a salary of 1,000 workers, for example, while it is not used A small number of workers and less than mentioned.
