(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) Former MP Mohammed Al-Lakash, the Supreme Council for the fight against corruption, demanded a monthly report to the media to inform the citizen about the results of his work.
"The Iraqi citizen" is waiting impatiently to see the corrupt in the prisons to receive their fair punishment for what they have done against the Iraqi people, "Al-Wakash said in a statement received by the news agency (Euphrates News).
"There are thousands of files of corruption from 2003 to the present day, and some of them are undisputed senior whales and are on the shelves of the Office of Financial Supervision and their observations and integrity and the judiciary and the prosecution and the offices of the inspectors.
"Some have used these files in the past for political blackmail and bargaining and for the theory of 'Tam Tamli and Wom Tamlk', knowing that this file will be one of the biggest files to challenge the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi."
The Prime Minister has pledged in his government program to eliminate corruption rampant in all parts of the state and form the Supreme Anti-Corruption Council under his chairmanship and the membership of the Office of Financial Supervision and the Integrity and Public Prosecution and Judicial Supervision and Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior.
Abdul Mahdi chaired the meeting of the Supreme Council for the fight against corruption at its new headquarters in the Iraqi Supreme Criminal Court on 16 of this month, which confirmed that "every corruption will be targeted, and the role of the Supreme Council to combat corruption is the process of high-level coordination among the regulatory bodies as a whole and focus their efforts in the direction One".
"The aim of the restructuring of the Council is to enable it to take deterrent measures and to provide financial, security and legislative support to the process of combating corruption and accelerate it."
