The governor of the General Authority for Customs Ahmed Al-Qahbani announced that Saudi Customs is working to prepare the operation of a new port Arar with Iraq according to the latest technologies in the world.
"The project of the new port of Arar with Iraq is equipped with international standards, and will be the first outlet in technology and competition globally," said Al-Qahbani, pointing out "its importance in the development of trade between Saudi Arabia and Iraq and the development of the border area and providing facilities for passers-by."
"Customs has prepared a project for the re-engineering of procedures for exemptions and customs restrictions, as one of the initiatives to shorten the procedures and legalize the lists of restricted goods and update them with the concerned parties."
He pointed to "the efforts of the Authority in facilitating procedures to support the national industry and include re-engineering of export procedures."
