The head of the coalition, "Saron" in the province of Diyala MP Burhan Mamouri on Tuesday on the existence of suspicions of corruption related to prisoners of space, and called on the President of the Supreme Council to combat corruption to form a fact-finding committee.
"The reform department is one of the most important departments of the Ministry of Justice because it is responsible for all prisons in Iraq," al-Mamouri said in a statement.
"There are suspicions of corruption that indicate the existence of space prisoners in the contracts of food," adding that "these suspicions cause the waste of large sums of money and put more than a question mark on the performance of the Department of Reform."
He called on the head of the Supreme Council for Combating Corruption, Adel Abdul Mahdi, to form a committee to investigate the facts and to make sure there are no prisoners of space and to hold accountable anyone who causes waste of public money.
It is noteworthy that the federal government headed by Adel Abdul-Mahdi has formed a higher council to combat financial and administrative corruption rampant in the departments and institutions of the state.
