[rtl] Government sources revealed on Tuesday that Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi is pressing the leaders of the Popular Mobilization to avoid escalation with the United States.[/rtl]
[rtl]Officials in Baghdad said that "Abdul-Mahdi, is leading arrangements to help Iraq in the storm of regional and international anger after targeting Saudi facilities, including the exclusion of hardline leaders in the Popular Mobilization," according to the newspaper "Arab" London.[/rtl]
[rtl]A leaked document revealed the approval of a new structure for the Popular Mobilization, which would allow Faleh al-Fayyad to play a major role at the expense of Abu Mahdi, an engineer close to the Quds Force commander in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, General Qasem Soleimani.[/rtl]
[rtl]The new document provides for the abolition of the post of deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Commission, which was previously occupied by the engineer, in favor of the formation of a "secret secretariat" under the direct authority of Fayyad, who is also the head of the Popular Mobilization Commission in the new structure.[/rtl]
[rtl]As the engineer turned from "deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Commission", to "Chief of Staff", which means stripped of the wide powers that allowed him to make big decisions, such as the formation of a special force of the Popular Mobilization, and the appointment of new fighters and disbursement of funds.[/rtl]
[rtl]The sources pointed out that "the Iraqi government is seeking to respond to pressure and demands from internal parties, including Kurdish and Sunni political leaders, including Saudi Arabia, and international, including the United States, to control the statements of the Popular Mobilization leaders close to Iran, as well as their movements."[/rtl]
