The Basra Housing Fund called on the local government to address the headquarters of the Ministry of Construction and Housing as well as the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers in order to provide the Fund with funds to include more borrowers.
Khalil Ibrahim Ghadhban, director of the fund, told Al-Murabd that the funds currently available in the fund do not cover the need for land to be distributed to citizens.
He also pointed out that the Fund has received since the beginning of this year to date 1123 transactions.
He added that the number of sukuk disbursed amounted to 1862 and the amounts disbursed exceeded the 24 billion Iraqi dinars, stressing that they were spent only for the construction of housing units.
He also pointed out that Basra and from 2005 to this year contributed to the construction of more than 12 thousand housing units.
