US President Donald Trump, in a tweet published in the Persian language, confirmed that he and his administration will continue to support protesters in Iran against the country's authorities, noting that "their courage is inspiring."
"The brave Iranian people who have suffered for a long time, I support you since the beginning of my presidency, and my administration will continue to support you," Trump said, in a tweet he posted commenting on the outbreak of new protests in Iran on Saturday, after the disaster of shooting down a Ukrainian passenger plane near Tehran on January 8.
The US President added: "We are closely following your protests. Your courage is inspiring."
