    The Committee for Strategic Planning and Follow-up of the Government Program confirmed, on Wednesday, that the House of Representatives included the retirement and social security law in the decision of the reforms package approved by the Council to implement the demands of the demonstrators and will include five million workers from the private sector, noting that the law is still in the Ministry of Labor and was not submitted to the Council of Ministers And deputies.
    Committee member Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani said in a statement reported by the official newspaper Al-Sabah and seen by him / the information: “The retirement and social security law is one of the most important articulations that affect the lives of citizens.” Especially for the law, and we have completed a new draft that was submitted to the cabinet in 2017. ”
    Al-Sudani added, “There was a desire by the government to go with a unified law that combines the general retirement law and private retirement with what is called the Social Insurance Law,” noting that “there are a number of objections that faced the law, which led to its obstruction and non-passage.”
    And that “one of the most important features of the new pension and social security law that was prepared and sent to the Council of Ministers in 2017 is that it included the informal sector, and according to the Ministry of Planning statistic it includes five million workers from the private sector from shop owners and workers in the markets.”
    The Sudanese MP pointed out that "the inclusion of these large numbers of the private sector is an important gain and a guarantee of the rights of their families, in addition to that the law will contribute to their inclusion in retirement, including the categories of older men and women", indicating that "the draft law is still with the Ministry of Labor and Affairs" Social Council and the State Council, and no decisions were taken on it, and the law was not sent to the Council of Ministers and Representatives, and the House of Representatives included the law in the package of reforms it passed to implement the demands of the demonstrators. ” Ended / 25
