    {Economical: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Oil has set the month of September 2022 as the date for entering the Karbala refinery to operate with a capacity of 140 thousand barrels per day, which will provide derivatives with high-quality international specifications.
    The ministry confirmed that the current year will witness the introduction of a number of Izmara units and the addition of a unit in Al-Shuaiba Refinery, with a capacity of 70,000 barrels per day. 
    The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Dr. Hamed Al-Zobaei, said in a statement, “The Karbala refinery is one of the very important projects for the country, and the work in it is carefully followed up by the ministry. The year 2022, leading to September of the same year, which will witness the completion of the operation of all units. 
    He added that “the refinery, which will have a refining capacity of up to 140 thousand barrels per day, will produce high-quality oil derivatives and will make an active contribution to meeting the needs of the consumption of gasoline and light products,” such as In the refinery in an accelerated manner and will be completed at the time specified for it, and despite the occurrence of delays due to the Corona pandemic and the ban that accompanied it, but the workers have made great efforts so that the pandemic does not affect the work in the refinery.  
    The Undersecretary of the Ministry for Liquidation Affairs stressed the necessity of setting a timetable for the training and qualification program for the national effort that will manage the production and technical units by taking advantage of the experience of international companies, whether consulting or operating the project.
    He stressed that "the ministry's plan set requires the lifting of the energies of refining through the establishment of new refineries and the development of refineries existing include raising production capacities and improving the quality of products, and work other within the plan by adding units isomerization units and the FCC to improve the quality of light products in the refineries," noting that The current year will witness the operation of Azmara units in the (North, Dora and Shuaiba) refineries, as well as the operation of the fourth unit in the Shuaiba Refinery to add a refining capacity of up to 70,000 barrels per day. 
    Al Zobaei revealed that he is working on offering the offers for the rehabilitation of the North Refinery with a capacity of 140 thousand barrels, indicating that “the engineering effort is working intensively to offer the refinery the products to rehabilitate it, and at the same time to raise the quality of the product. The rehabilitation process and the development of engineering designs to upgrade these units to produce high-quality products.
    The Minister of Oil, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismael, emphasized the importance of speeding up the completion of the Karbala oil refinery project, despite the health conditions and challenges facing Iraq and the countries of the world because the refinery represents a high value and an important addition to the quality and quality of the refining sector in Iraq. It increases the local need for oil derivatives after the completion and operation of a number of other projects in the refining sector that the Ministry is implementing in this context in addition to this project. 200 megawatts) this summer. 
    It is noteworthy that the Karbala refinery includes (35) operational and service units, of which four are for the production of gasoline, and includes a thermal cracking unit with auxiliary agent (FCC) and a unit of “poly naphtha” with the number of octane (95) and (90) in addition to the implementation of the construction of (44) tanks.
