    Over the past 15 years, Turkey has received more than 9 million Iraqi travelers, at a rate that at the end of 2019 reached 1.3 million travelers annually, and while the money spent annually in Turkey is equivalent to about 6 billion dollars, which means that within 15 years, about 90 billion dollars were disbursed. Which is equivalent to a full-year budget for Iraq.
    According to a report by the Future Iraq Foundation, which was followed by "Yes Iraq", that "the total expenditures of Iraqis in Turkey (without adopting investment amounts) amounted to more than 30 billion dollars over the past 15 years. These sums contributed to improving the investment reality of Turkey, as the percentage of Iraqi travelers reached "Total travelers to Turkey are more than 3% of all travelers to Turkey."
    The entry points for the Iraqis were distributed, so that the Zakho port occupies the largest percentage, with 32% of all travelers during 2019, then Sabiha Airport by 30%, then Istanbul by sea by 13%, and then Istanbul Airport by 8%.
    A member of the Foundation, Manar Al-Obeidi, says, “There are no accurate figures for what is spent annually by Iraqi travelers, whether for tourism, medical or educational reasons, but the annual exchange rate exceeds the barrier of 6 billion dollars, equivalent to approximately 8 trillion dinars, and this amount is considered a large part of Waste in the local currency and the existing monetary mass of the country for the benefit of other countries “, which means spending more than 90 billion dollars over 15 years, which is close to the entire year’s budget for Iraq.
    He added that "investing these funds inside the country to provide various recreational and therapeutic places, as well as studying at the highest levels, could have led to a reduction of this waste, which is no less than the waste in importing consumer goods, which led to the destruction of the local product in its industrial and agricultural sectors."
    He continued: "Unfortunately, it comes back to the absence of a vision and strategy, as well as the absence of government data capable of drawing a clear strategy for the future of Iraq that can rectify many future problems that may occur."
