Finance Minister Ali Allawi, on Tuesday, the government looked forward to building bridges of partnership with various countries.
And the media office of the Minister of Finance stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Finance Minister Ali Allawi received at the ministry's headquarters the newly-designated ambassador of the Russian Federation to Baghdad, Elbrus Kutrashev, the embassy's advisor for economic affairs, Ilya Lobov and the accompanying delegation."
He added that "Allawi praised the historical bilateral relations that bind the two friendly countries," stressing "the importance of working to perpetuate and develop these relations."
The statement indicated that "the Minister of Finance expressed the Iraqi government's aspiration to extend bridges of cooperation and partnership with various countries, including the Republic of Russia, and to strengthen joint cooperation in various fields, especially the economic aspects of it."
For his part, Ambassador Kutrashev expressed his happiness with the new mission entrusted to him in Iraq, expressing at the same time his country's full support for Iraq in various fields.
