    In a joint press conference with Governor Najm Abdullah Al-Jubouri, Al-Najm confirmed that "Nineveh Governorate has been subjected to harsh conditions, and it requires the federal and local governments to implement reconstruction plans at their specific times," adding that "our visit to Nineveh Governorate comes as a continuation of our previous steps, and to stand on the ground on Reality of project implementation.
    He stressed, "There will be priority for projects in the Sinjar district and the Nineveh Plain, due to the high rate of damage in the two districts," noting that "the governorate will witness an unconventional reconstruction campaign, the results of which will soon be felt by the citizen."
    He pointed out that "the reconstruction of the old city with its river facade is one of the priorities of the province's reconstruction plan."
    The Minister of Planning announced, "completion of all requirements for launching financial allocations for projects in Nineveh Governorate, which are ongoing and suspended," noting that "all the frozen funds in the form of trusts will be launched to Nineveh Governorate soon."
    He added, "We are working to complete the requirements for releasing the entitlements of contractors in Nineveh Governorate and the rest of the provinces," noting that "the indicators of poverty in Nineveh Governorate will witness a decline after the launch of the reconstruction campaign in the province."
    Al-Najm announced that "the general population census was not carried out last year due to the pandemic and this year due to the lack of financial allocations, and work is continuing to implement it in the next year 2022."
