The Iraqi Federation of Industries and the Jordanian Chamber of Industry have signed an agreement to establish the joint Iraqi-Jordanian Chamber of Industry to develop industrial and investment activities, transfer technology, develop services and seek to establish an economic partnership between the two countries.
This came during a joint meeting that was held at the headquarters of the Iraqi Federation of Industries, in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Minerals Manhal Aziz Al-Khabbaz, the Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Maha Ali and the accompanying Jordanian delegation from the public sector, the head and members of the Jordanian Chambers of Industry and Trade, the Jordanian ambassador to Iraq, the head of the members of the Iraqi Federation of Industries, industrialists and men Iraqi business, where the paragraphs of the agreement were reviewed and discussed, the importance of the joint industrial chamber and the opportunities available for cooperation between the Iraqi and Jordanian private sectors to reach real work and fruitful industrial partnerships.
The Iraqi Minister of Industry indicated, "The real work falls on the shoulders of the private sector because of its freedom, flexibility in dealing and speed in procedures," stressing the importance of building agreements on sound foundations to bring the views closer in light of the ties that link Iraq and Jordan of blood relations, brotherhood and Arabism. In addition to the geographical location that makes the two countries partners and they have strategic depth in the region.”
The Minister recommended holding continuous sessions and meetings via communication means to follow up the available opportunities in Iraq and Jordan and exchange information and data on industries in both countries to reach final decisions and formulas for cooperation and joint action.
For her part, the Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply said, "We have a solid and strong base for framing the economic relations sponsored by the leaders of the two countries to raise them to the best levels," pointing out that the economic side occupied a large part of the tripartite summit and that Iraq is a strategic partner with Jordan and we will work to advance this partnership from through industrial and commercial cooperation.
She stressed, "Jordan is serious about having practical and implementation steps for everything that has been agreed upon in a way that benefits the Jordanian and Iraqi private sectors," calling for "intensifying meetings between the Jordanian and Iraqi private sectors and further communication to establish an exhibition of Jordanian-Iraqi products."
The signed agreement aims to strengthen the bonds of friendship and understanding between the industrial sectors in both countries, develop cooperation in the industrial and commercial field, and establish partnerships. It also included a number of tasks, including stimulating industrialists in the two countries for the purpose of entering into the establishment of joint projects, exchanging information in the industrial and commercial field, and providing services between the two countries. To support cooperation between the two countries in the field of supervising trade missions, receiving businessmen and industrialists, and encouraging industrialists in both countries to participate in temporary and permanent trade fairs that are held in the two countries and others.
