    {Local: Al Furat News} The Ministries of Electricity and Oil discussed, today, Monday, the operation of the Maysan gas station in the Bazargan and Halfaya fields in Maysan Governorate.

    At a recent start, the undersecretary reviewed the status of the system and the ministry’s efforts to preserve the achievements made, and that the ministry is racing against time to complete the introduction of new generation capacities so that it can keep pace with the increasing demand for energy despite its suffering due to the repercussions of reducing the general budget needed by the electricity sector, bearing in mind that the ministry did not You receive any amounts at the time your allocations are reduced.
    The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity and the Director General of the Technical Department of the Ministry of Oil discussed the possibility of operating the Maysan gas station with a capacity of 750 megawatts by equipping it with a connecting tube that supplies it with the fuel needed for operation, as its operation is considered one of the utmost necessities, since we need all the energy that can be generated. 
    The Undersecretary also referred to the Ministry's support and encouragement for investment, provided that it is not at the expense of citizens or public money, in addition to its efforts to review investment contracts and investors' obligations, and there are serious steps towards providing a suitable environment for investment.
    For his part, the Director General of the Technical Department of Oil confirmed his ministry's readiness to solve the problems related to fuel supply after examining the determinants by which the gas supplied from the Bazarkan and Halfania fields can be pushed, as the latter field is acidic gas that may lead to the obsolescence and consumption of the operating equipment, so that the meeting resulted in Forming a tripartite delegation to see the preparations of the Maysan station and its readiness for operation within the near future.
