    Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi discussed with the leaders of the Democratic majority and the Republican minority in the US Senate the challenges facing Iraq.
    In a statement received by Mawazine News, the Prime Minister's Media Office stated, "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi met in Washington, the majority leader of the Democratic Party in the US Senate, Chuck Schumer, the leader of the Republican minority, Mitch McConnell, and a number of senators from both parties. Republican and Democrat.
    He added, "During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, and ways to strengthen them, stressing Iraq's growing role in the region and in achieving stability, and the meeting also discussed the challenges that Iraq faces in the security and economic aspects, and confronting the Corona pandemic, and a vision was also listened to. The Iraqi government regarding the reforms it has embarked on, through the reform white paper, and the overall situation in Iraq.

    Today, Wednesday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi confirmed to US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi that Iraq is seeking to pursue everything that promotes a policy of calm in the region. 
    The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by Mawazine News that "Al-Kazemi met Pelosi today, as part of his current visit to the American capital, Washington, and the meeting witnessed a discussion of ways to enhance cooperation between Iraq and the United States at various economic levels and the horizon of joint political coordination, As well as cooperation in the fields of education, culture, investment, and others. 
    Pelosi welcomed, according to the statement, "Al-Kazemi's visit to the United States and the US Congress building," stressing "the members of the Council support the Al-Kazemi government's steps and initiatives and its growing role in enhancing regional security and stability." 
    She confirmed
    Pelosi stressed "the importance of continuing bilateral cooperation in the fight against the Corona pandemic, and the United States continuing to provide support to the Iraqi people by contributing to the provision of vaccines." 
    Al-Kazemi stated, according to the statement, that "Iraq is seeking to adopt everything that enhances the policy of calm in the region, as well as moving forward in promoting reforms, fighting corruption, enhancing its internal security, and creating an appropriate environment that attracts investment."
