The border crossings clarify the mechanism for granting approvals to import chemicals

The Border Ports Authority revealed, on Wednesday, the mechanism for granting approvals to import chemicals and the method of transferring them to the beneficiary.
The head of the Border Ports Authority, Major General Omar Al-Waeli, said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency and followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the process of importing chemical and biological materials, as well as dual-use materials, is carried out according to requests submitted by the public and private sectors."
He added, "After the approval of the relevant security authorities, the import license is issued coupled with those approvals," noting that "when it enters the border crossing, it is detected by the technical committees present, and the transaction documents are checked by them."
He continued, "After the customs clearance of the materials, they are managed under customs guard for the beneficiary party and under the supervision of the relevant security authorities."
