The Jordan Chamber of Industry organized during the period from (11 to December 20, 2021) the exhibition “Jordanian Industries - in Baghdad” in cooperation with the Ministry of Investment. About (95) Jordanian companies and factories participated in the exhibition, representing various Jordanian industrial sectors, and for the first time direct sales For the Iraqi consumer (20) companies, while (75) companies and factories offered samples and materials for their products during the exhibition... What is the importance of this exhibition? And what are its goals? And what did he achieve?
(Al-Dustour Center for Economic Studies) - which was present at this important event - tries to read it after the end of the exhibition’s work to answer these questions and shed light on this exhibition, which was distinguished by the following points, which were a major factor in its success and achieving the goals of its establishment:
1 - This is considered The exhibition is the first of its kind “as an exhibition specializing in Jordanian industries only” in which direct sales are held to the public.
2 - The exhibition has received great official Jordanian attention. It is being held under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, who was delegated by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Youssef Al-Shamali.
3- The exhibition, on the other hand, received great official Iraqi attention through the presence of the Minister of Industry and Minerals, Manhal Aziz Al-Khabbaz, at the opening ceremony, and through that the large and distinguished attendance of the opening ceremony of the exhibition, with the participation of Iraqi officials from all official, military, security and civil sectors, and certainly the industrial, commercial and business sectors. ..with the presence of a high-ranking diplomat, including ambassadors and diplomats of Arab and friendly countries.
4 - A busy and crowded program of meetings of the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Youssef Al-Shamali with Iraqi ministers, chambers of industry and commerce and the private sector, during which many common issues of concern to the two brotherly countries were discussed, emphasizing the importance of the visit.
5- The presence of the Iraqi media - especially for the opening ceremony and the Northern Minister's meetings with Iraqi ministers - contributed to the promotion of the exhibition.. The presence of the Jordanian media also provided an opportunity to closely look at the available opportunities and listen directly to the Jordanian and Iraqi industrialists and the possible partnership opportunities, in a way that enables the media to play an important and effective role By promoting Jordanian industries and emphasizing the available opportunities and the feasibility of investment between the two countries.
6 - The presence of the exhibition in the “Baghdad International Fair Ground” area and its coincidence with the establishment of the annual book fair, which enjoys a great public turnout, especially by school students, helped to provide the Iraqi youth generation with an opportunity to learn about Jordanian industries, and we saw the admiration of the visitors of the exhibition in general with the industries Jordanian, and the admiration of male and female students in particular.
7- Direct selling in the exhibition showed the extent of the thirst for the Jordanian product by the Iraqi consumer to the extent that many of the participating companies ran out of their goods during the first days of the opening of the exhibition.
8 - The location and location of the exhibition was distinguished, the distribution of the pavilions was consistent, and the area that exceeded (2000 square meters) was appropriate as a first participation. After this success, it is expected that it will double in the coming times.
9- The presence of Jordanian companies and factories was wonderful and was distinguished by the Jordanian hospitality of the exhibition goers, just as the professional and craftsmanship of presenting and presenting the Jordanian product, whether in the “samples” pavilion or direct sales, and during the long opening hours of the exhibition (10 am - 8 pm), which allowed a suitable time And enough for exhibitors and visitors.
10 - It is absolutely clear that a great and colossal effort had been made over the months preceding the exhibition through organizing, sending invitations, and a qualitative and distinguished presence for the opening, an effort recorded with respect and appreciation for the work team: Jordan Chamber of Industry, the Jordanian Embassy
in Iraq, the Ministry of Investment, and Majd Company Business in Iraq, and coordination with the Iraqi Exhibitions Company, and for Capital Bank, represented by its Chairman, Basem Khalil Al-Salem, who supported the exhibition and was keen to attend the opening, and to all the parties that contributed to the success of the exhibition, which showed the capabilities and professional capabilities of Jordanian youth who believe in their homeland and national industries (sent Opening invitations electronically, manually, and in a luxurious way, containing Jordanian products that define the distinguished Jordanian industries.
All this distinction... Was the exhibition successful?
Before answering this question, it is necessary to address the success factors that helped and paved the way for its achievement, including:
1- The organization and effort of the Jordan Chamber of Industry, starting with its president, Eng. Fathi Al-Jaghbir, passing through all the members of its board of directors, and members of the board of directors of the Amman Chamber of Industry as well.
2 - Under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh for the exhibition and assigning the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Youssef Al-Shamayleh on his behalf.
3 - Support of the Ministry of Investment for the exhibition by covering (30%) of the cost of participation in the exhibition.
4 - The effort of the Jordanian embassy in Iraq under the guidance and follow-up of the ambassador personally d. Muntasir Al-Uqla Al-Zoubi, the economic attaché, Rami Al-Qudah, and all the embassy staff.
- With all these advantages enjoyed by the Jordanian Industries Fair in Baghdad and the auxiliary factors, we can say with certainty that the exhibition has succeeded in achieving its goals, even more than that, and among the most important goals:
1- Removing fear and prior fear from participation, which turned out to be unjustified. Iraq is safe, and Iraqis fill the streets, roads, malls, and cafes..and major hotels have a good occupancy rate.
2 - The exhibition created an opportunity for Jordanian companies and factories to display their products directly to the Iraqi consumer (in direct sales) or their product to businessmen and those interested (displaying samples).
3 - The exhibition provided an opportunity for Jordanian industrialists to meet with their Iraqi counterparts, to exchange views, proposals, and even common concerns to cooperate in eliminating them.
4 - Many of the participants were not satisfied with staying within the walls of the exhibition, but many of them organized visits to the Iraqi markets and met with traders and industrialists and discussed the possibility of cooperation, and we learned that there are (10-12 participating manufacturers who have succeeded in reaching agreements to appoint agents for them in the Iraqi market).
- The exhibition contributed to further consolidating the Jordanian-Iraqi economic relations through the intensive program of meetings between the participants from Jordan and their Iraqi counterparts, which helped in the presence of “the same – opening the feast – different” this time for dialogues and meetings (according to the expression of M. Fathi Al-Jaghbir, head of the Amman Chambers of Industry and Jordan). Details pp. 18-21[/size]
