Adviser to the President of the Territory discloses the latest developments on the formation of the federal government
Shafaq News/ Adviser to the President of Kurdistan Region, Dilshad Shehab said on Sunday the latest developments regarding the formation of the new federal government.
Shehab said in a statement he made to reporters today, that after the announcement of the final results of the elections, several meetings took place between the Iraqi political parties, despite the differences in opinions about whether or not to participate in the Iraqi government by the Kurdish parties, but they are unanimously agreed on the need to preserve the rights of the people of Kurdistan.
And he added that in the last meeting that brought together the two main parties, the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, during which they reached good understandings to participate in one program in the dialogues to form the federal government.
In turn, Hemin Hawrami, Deputy Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament, said that after listening to the views of the political parties in the region, a delegation from the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan will go to Baghdad to begin negotiations on forming the government.
Hawrami also told reporters that the delegation, consisting of four joint committees from the two parties, will visit Baghdad, indicating that one of the committees is responsible for writing the government program.
He explained that the party wants to go to Baghdad with a joint delegation, but before the visit, it will meet with the Kurdish political parties to listen to their views on how to participate in the Iraqi government.
