    The Ministry of Industry and Minerals revealed, on Wednesday, coordination with all governorates for the purpose of establishing industrial cities, except for Baghdad and Diyala, due to the difficulty of obtaining approvals for land allocation, while preparing to announce a number of these cities as investment opportunities.
    The director of the Industrial Cities Authority in the ministry, Hamid Awad Muhammad, said in a statement seen by (the information), that "the authority is communicating with all governorates for the purpose of establishing industrial cities, except for Baghdad and Diyala, due to the difficulty of obtaining approvals for land allocation."
    Muhammad added, "The achievement of the industrial city in Basra has reached 59%, as it will be announced as an investment opportunity for local and foreign companies after the completion of procedures with the Ministry of Finance for the purpose of registering its ownership in the name of the ministry," noting that "this city is attractive to investment because of its location near the port." Khor Al-Zubair, which covers an area of ​​173 dunams, and 100 dunams will be added to it, while it has been agreed with the Investment Authority to allocate a plot of land near it with an area of ​​1,000 dunums with the aim of establishing an economic and logistical zone.”
    Muhammad pointed out, “Another industrial city has been established in Dhi Qar governorate with an area of ​​2,000 dunams and is characterized by a location close to the highway, where 105 dividers have been implemented as a first stage on an area of ​​200 dunums, and currently contracts have been signed with industrialists to develop it, and work is underway to prepare plans and surveys. And preparing the dividers for the remaining 1,800 dunums of acres in order to distribute it as a second stage.”
    The official at the Ministry of Industry indicated that “advanced stages have been reached in the implementation of the industrial city in the 35 kilometer area in Anbar Governorate, after the completion of the infrastructure as a first stage on an area of ​​3,000 acres, and the engineering staff have now started work on the second phase in this city.”
    He explained, "An industrial city has been established in Karbala, on an area of ​​5,300 acres, in addition to signing a development contract with a company specialized in the petrochemical, oil and engineering industries.
