    [size=45]Under this partnership, UNICEF will collaborate with Zain Iraq to work on key issues affecting children and youth to reach 20 million people through a series of awareness campaigns.

    [size=45]Baghdad, 15  February 2022 : UNICEF and Zain Iraq  signed today, a partnership agreement aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of supporting children’s rights in Iraq during the next three years, by adopting joint action plans in many areas related to children, including education and health Nutrition, social protection, water and hygiene, as well as the active participation of youth.[/size]
    [size=45]Within the framework of this partnership, Zain will employ its distinguished capabilities and its pioneering network in the field of communications along with its innovative digital services to achieve communication with young people and children in Iraq and provide them with the opportunity to access important and vital information as well as listen to their opinions through surveys, which would It is a catalyst for the development and implementation of existing UNICEF programmes.[/size]
    [size=45]Shema Sen Gupta, UNICEF Representative in Iraq, said: “We welcome this partnership with Zain Iraq, which will enhance our work in Iraq, and allow us to reach more communities, especially in hard-to-reach areas. This partnership also constitutes an important step in strengthening our strategic relationship with Zain with the aim of improving the lives of children and youth in Iraq.”[/size]
    [size=45]For his part, Ali Al-Zahid, CEO of Zain Iraq, said: “  We are pleased to announce this partnership with UNICEF because it represents an extension of our joint initiatives and efforts in developing the standard of living for Iraqi children and the local community. Zain Iraq places corporate social responsibility programs on top of its priorities, and we will continue our keenness and quest to employ our advanced technologies and services, in order to achieve the safety and health of Iraqis, in cooperation with our strategic partners such as UNICEF.”[/size]
    [size=45]This partnership will allow reaching more than 5 million children under the age of five, and nearly 2 million women by 2022, through the promotion and dissemination of digital initiatives related to maternal, newborn and child health .[/size]
    [size=45]Activities under this partnership also include reaching 20 million people through SMS messages that include advice on preventive measures and measures against Coronavirus (Covid-19).[/size]
    [size=45]This new partnership will also include supporting and empowering at least 1,000 young people in Iraq to achieve their full potential by providing opportunities for learning, participation and networking. [/size]
    [size=45]The cooperation between Zain Iraq and UNICEF will focus on supporting the rights of children in Iraq by providing joint support to a number of projects in the areas of education, risk reporting, community participation, health, nutrition, water and hygiene, adolescent development, enhancing their participation in society, child protection and social integration .[/size]
    [size=45]This partnership will contribute to raising awareness and influencing public policy for multiple parties, including civil society, governments, business and society in general. This partnership will be implemented by relying on Zain’s role, leadership position and influence in the areas of communication, marketing and innovations in providing communication products and services, in addition to benefiting from UNICEF’s expertise in organizing programs for children and youth.[/size]
