Shafaq News/ The World Health Organization announced, on Monday, the selection of Iraq and four other countries to implement and develop the comprehensive health systems review program, due to its success in confronting the Corona epidemic.
The media office of the Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, stated, in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, that the latter received in his office in Baghdad, the Regional Director of the World Health Organization, Ahmed Al-Mandhari and his accompanying delegation, who praised Iraq's success in measures to confront the Corona epidemic.
Al-Mandhari said that this success is what prompted the organization to choose Iraq to be one of the five countries in the world to conduct the comprehensive review and development program for health systems adopted by the organization.
He added, "And to confirm the success of the Iraqi medical cadres in facing the challenge of the pandemic, the program will be carried out through cooperation with the Ministries of Health and Agriculture and the University of Baghdad, in addition to other parties."
For his part, Al-Kazemi affirmed the government's keenness to improve the health situation and develop the level of services provided, despite the challenges and obstacles that Iraq has succeeded in overcoming many of.
He indicated the Iraqi government's intention to restore the health system in Iraq; In order to be able to meet the aspirations of the citizen, by relying on self-efforts and with the help of international organizations.
