    Earth News/ The Economic Contact Group for Iraq announced today, Monday, its encouragement for the Iraqi government to take advantage of the rise in oil prices to implement further reforms.
    The group said in a statement, received by Earth News, that it "encourages the Iraqi government to seize the opportunity to use the increased oil revenues in order to strengthen the social safety net and mitigate the impact of food prices," noting that "effective targeting is essential to ensuring that most of the most vulnerable groups receive Adequate support.
    And she added, "Given the current situation, the Iraq Economic Liaison Group emphasizes the importance of maintaining progress on major economic reforms and suggests using the increased revenues to lay the foundations for future prosperity in Iraq by providing the required reconstruction and improving human resources and basic services."
    The group added that "these reforms will enhance the competitiveness of the Iraqi private sector at the local and international levels, especially the agricultural sector, by enhancing food security in Iraq and increasing job opportunities," stressing that "its members will continue to develop their support for economic reforms as well as their support for social programs, the provision of basic services and the strengthening of The efficiency of the public distribution system and the agricultural sector.

    Today, Monday, the Economic Contact Group for Iraq announced its encouragement to the Iraqi government to take advantage of the rise in oil prices to implement further reforms.
