    Information / Baghdad…
The legal expert, Ali Al-Tamimi, explained that the legal procedures regarding the resignation of parliamentarians, pointing out that the Speaker of the Council is the one who controls whether or not the resignations are accepted, as well as the procedures for the names of replacement representatives.
Al-Tamimi told Al-Maalouma, "The constitution and the internal system of Parliament did not include any hadith or text about the duration of the parliament's resignation, and it was also not mentioned in the House of Representatives law."
He added, "The Civil Service Law confirms the acceptance of the resignation of representatives by the Speaker of Parliament within a period of 30 days, in addition to the fact that the resignation is effective after the signature of the Speaker of Parliament."
And he indicated that "there are procedures to follow the resignation, including the approach of the Electoral Commission to send the names of the resigned replacements, in order to take the constitutional oath, as providing the Speaker of Parliament with alternative names and taking the oath means that the matter is irreversible and the resigned cannot be returned."
He pointed out that "the deputies who resigned from Parliament can return to the parliament and rescind their resignation in the event that the Speaker of Parliament did not receive the alternative names, as well as these names did not take the oath, and therefore the Speaker of Parliament is the one who controls the matter." finished 25
