Complaint to the Attorney General about the lack of funds in Sulaymaniyah banks
Shafaq News/ A deputy in the Parliament of Kurdistan Region revealed on Sunday, the suffering of a number of employees of the governorates of Sulaymaniyah, Halabja, Garmian and Raparin departments due to the delay in disbursing their salaries since the beginning of 2022, indicating that they were not paid according to the schedule announced by the Ministry of Finance.
The deputy in the Parliament of Kurdistan, Omar Jalali, said on his personal page on Facebook; "The lack of money in banks has caused a big problem for the residents of the provinces of Sulaymaniyah, Halabja, Idarati, Garmian and Raparin," warning that the continuation of this situation and not being corrected will lead to greater effects and people's lives will face more difficulties.
He added that according to the applicable laws, the Kurdistan Regional Government has one treasury and one ministry of finance, and these problems do not occur in the governorates of Erbil and Dohuk, as is the case in these two governorates and independent administrations.
Jalali confirmed that on August 10, 2022, and according to the official memo numbered (190), we submitted a complaint to the Public Prosecutor in Sulaymaniyah to take legal action against any person and institution that caused a shortage of funds in Sulaymaniyah banks.
He pointed out that the filing of the complaint is a continuation of a series of efforts and pressures that we carried out over the course of six months in order to protect the public interest, correct the situation and return the funds to the banks, while the financial situation of the region is very good.
