The Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed, on Sunday, that there is currently no law to amend the salary scale.
Committee member Jamal Cougar said, "The salary scale needs a special law to be withdrawn and amended, or to be included in a law such as the civil service law," noting that "the civil service law was withdrawn from the House of Representatives by the government."
Cougar added, in an interview with Mawazine News, followed by Al-Iqtisad News, that "therefore, we do not find the salary scale law," noting that "any talk about including the salary scale or any paragraph related to it in the budget is incorrect, because it is a different law."
