Earth News / The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, stressed today, Sunday, the importance of adherence to Iraqi laws by foreign companies operating in Iraq, especially with regard to the labor and social security laws.
"Korea is one of the economically important countries because of its great experiences over fifty years," said the minister, during his meeting with the South Korean ambassador to Iraq, Joi Sung Soo, according to a statement by his media office, which was received by Earth News.
He added, "The historical relationship between the two countries developed a lot after 2003, and that Korean companies have a distinguished role in Iraq."
He pointed to "the importance of encouraging its work in the country, especially after reports reached the ministry about the lack of commitment by some companies to Iraqi laws regarding work, vocational training, and social security."
