    Economy News-Baghdad
Energy expert, Hamza Al-Jawahiri, praised, on Monday, the government's moves towards Siemens to invest in Iraqi gas.
Al-Jawahiry told "Al-Eqtisad News" that "the prime minister's visit to Germany and the signing of the agreement with Siemens is a very important step, as Germany can invest gas in gas fields such as Akkas, Mansouriya, Siba, Al-Khashm Al-Ahmar and Anja," noting that "these fields are sufficient for Iraq to operate power stations despite Some of them are located within the disputed areas.
Regarding Kurdistan's oil, Al-Jawahiri explained that "the company that exports oil from the Kurdistan region asked for $256 million, and thus it wants new prices that the regional government rejects."
He pointed out that "the region currently sells oil to Turkey and then to the countries of the world."

Earlier, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani said that the field of electricity is the subject of previous continuous cooperation between Iraq and Siemens, and a memorandum of understanding includes projects in the fields of production, transportation and distribution, followed by the signing of contracts in Baghdad.
He added, we have prepared the financial allocations for the implementation of the memorandum, which differs from previous memorandums of understanding, as securing the financial allocations was the most important obstacle.
He pointed to the need for more projects than contracts with Siemens, and there are national companies and other companies, and the problem is not only related to production, but rather to improving the process of transportation and distribution, and this is part of joint ventures with Siemens.[/size]
