    The Federal Integrity Commission announced the arrest of the director of accounts for the municipalities of Anbar Governorate and four other defendants, and the return of more than two billion dinars that were embezzled from the amounts of the Food Security Law.
    And the Investigation Department stated in a statement that "the work team of the commission's investigation office in Anbar, after receiving information regarding the existence of cases of embezzlement, visited government banks, the Directorate of Anbar Municipalities and a number of municipal departments in the province, and conducted investigations, investigations, audits, investigations, and access to bank statements and initial amounts." allocated within the Food Security Law, as these efforts resulted in the detection of misappropriation of difference amounts allocated to contract holders in accordance with Resolution (315).
    The department added, "The team succeeded in returning the amount of (2,284,000,000) billion dinars that was withdrawn by the director of accounts of the municipality of Rutba and its disbursement committee since September 2022, and it was not distributed among those who are entitled to it, pointing out that the director of accounts of the Anbar municipalities provided them with the aforementioned amount through one of Money exchangers in the city of Ramadi.
    And she explained, "The director of accounts of the Anbar municipalities, three employees in the municipality of Rutba, and the money exchange owner who directs the accused to receive sums from him were seized, and the operation also resulted in the seizure of an amount of one billion dinars in his house during his search according to a judicial note, in addition to seizing records and a laptop."
    And she indicated that "a fundamental arrest report was organized, and it was presented, along with the five insulted persons and the seized criminal exhibits, to the competent investigating judge, who decided to arrest them, based on the provisions of Article (316) of the Iraqi Penal Code."
