    Today, Monday, the Minister of Health, Saleh Al-Hasnawi, confirmed that the health insurance law needs procedures, including approving the 2023 budget.
    Al-Hasnawi said in a press conference attended by the National News Center: “We express regret and great sadness after the assassination of our colleague Ahmed Talal in Diyala,” noting that “the Ministry of Health confirms the preservation of all its employees and in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior.”
    He added, "The Ministry of Health is part of the government program, noting that it is" a sectoral program and has a series of measures led by the service sector, combating corruption and combating poverty.
    The Minister of Health stated, “The ministry seeks to implement the health insurance law, complete many lagging hospital programs, and operate modern hospitals,” adding that “the health insurance law requires procedures, including approving the budget,” pointing to “the ministry issuing all health insurance instructions to target 300,000 citizens, including 150 A thousand for the families of the employees.
    And Al-Hasnawi indicated that “the new Basra Hospital is ready for opening, while Kadhimiya and Maysan Hospitals will be ready for opening,” noting that “the ministry has a project with the service effort to rehabilitate the Children’s Hospital.”
    Al-Hasnawi added, “There is a project to rehabilitate several hospitals, including Yarmouk, Al-Karamah, and Fatima Al-Zahraa, and there is also communication with the governors to rehabilitate every old hospital in every governorate.”
    With regard to cardiac centers, he said: "The ministry was able to speed up the arrival of 8 cardiac catheterization devices."
    He pointed out that "the ministry opened the Canal Center for the treatment of addiction cases and is working with human resources to complete it, as it is one of the most prominent projects in the region. It also opened a drug control center in Basra, a burn center in Fallujah, 12 popular clinics and many other projects."
    And the Minister of Health announced the completion of the project to resettle the pharmaceutical industry in Iraq, pointing out that there are great facilities, including imports, contracts, granting licenses, and opening factories.
    And he added: “Iraqi doctors have the highest success rate and the highest positions in the board, and we have meetings with many ambassadors, and we talked with them, including Germany.”
    With regard to the assassination of Dr. Ahmed Talal, Al-Hasnawi stressed that he “contacted the Minister of Interior, and we do not know the reason, and we are waiting for the results of the investigation.”
