    The Ministry of Planning announced today, Wednesday, that the number of lagging projects in the country has decreased to 1171 projects.

    And the ministry stated, in a statement received by Mawazine News, that “Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Muhammad Ali Tamim today held a meeting for the Diwani Order Committee (23034), which is charged with addressing lagging projects and resolving them,” noting that “the committee includes the head of the Integrity Commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, the head of the Office of Financial Supervision, Rafel Yassin Khudair, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning for Technical Affairs, Maher Hammad Johan.

    During the meeting, according to the statement, "a review of ongoing and lagging projects within the investment program of ministries and entities not associated with a ministry, and the region development program that concerns local governments in the governorates."

    The committee discussed, "The reasons for delay, the costs of lagging projects, the amounts disbursed, and the remaining financial obligations for their completion, and the size of the annual losses that the national economy is exposed to as a result of stopping these projects and what they are exposed to in terms of extinctions, which increase the cost of their completion."

    The Minister of Planning stressed that "this committee is of great importance due to the tasks associated with it, in light of the government's directives that this year be the year of completion of projects, and that priority will be given to hospitals, schools, sanitation and water projects," stressing that "the committee will do its best To address the problems that caused the suspension and delay of projects, and to resolve them as soon as possible, to resume work on them.

    And he continued, "The Ministry of Planning worked during the past months to follow up on all the lagging projects, diagnosed the reasons for the delay, and developed a road map to address them," noting that "the number of these projects decreased to 1171 projects after the treatments taken by the ministry during more than 52 meetings with the beneficiaries." Ended 29/N33

    Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Planning announced a decrease in lagging projects to 1171 projects.
