    On Thursday, Minister of Justice Khaled Shawani discussed with his Moroccan counterpart, Chairman of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice, Abd al-Latif Wehbe, the implementation of agreements between the two countries regarding the extradition of convicts.
    And a statement of the Iraqi Justice, which was received by (Baghdad Today), quoted Shawani as saying, “They discussed many files of interest to both sides, and coordination and cooperation between the two ministries with regard to concluding agreements that regulate legal issues between the two countries, leading to the conclusion of comprehensive agreements regarding the extradition of convicts in accordance with the standards human rights and international standards in this field.
    He referred to "Iraq's request to the Moroccan minister, in his capacity as head of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice, to host Iraq for the next meeting of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice in Baghdad."
    Shawani affirmed that he "will discuss files of interest to relations between the two brotherly countries, especially after the visit made by the Moroccan minister and his successful meetings with the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, the Prime Minister and other meetings in Baghdad." 
    He pointed out that he "discussed the situation of Moroccan nationals in Iraq, as well as the convicts, male and female, of Moroccan citizens who are in the correctional services in Iraq," stressing that he "will do his best to implement the agreements to be concluded between the two parties in order to return the Moroccan convicts to their country."
    Shawani said, "The discussion took place in various fields to benefit from Moroccan expertise, especially in their pioneering experience in the field of automation and digitization of real estate registration departments and the legal rights of citizens."
    For his part, the Moroccan Minister of Justice drew attention to the discussion of files and issues related to coordination and cooperation mechanisms between the two ministries," stressing "the desire of his country's government to cooperate with Iraq and the possibility of exchanging legal and judicial expertise between the two parties."
