The Ministry of Industry and Minerals confirmed today, Tuesday, the government's intention to partner with the private sector to revive the suspended factories.
"The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Batal Al-Najm, has a tendency to refer the suspended factories to partnership with the private sector by adding new production lines," said the ministry's spokeswoman, Duha Al-Jubouri, in an interview with the official agency, followed by Mawazine News. 295 laboratories, 191 operating laboratories, and the number of suspended laboratories is 104.
Al-Jubouri continued, "The government's current approach is to focus on establishing and bringing in new production lines and not rehabilitating the old ones due to the end of the life span of the latter," noting that "the focus at this stage is on strategic industries, which are fertilizers, sulfur, phosphates, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, and mining."
And she stated, "The partnership with the private sector will be with international, Arab and local companies, and the Ministry of Industry and Minerals will have a large conference that will be held for the first time in May, during which partnership opportunities for these strategic industries will be presented."
