Shafaq News/ He directed the Iraqi government, ministries, provinces, and all state institutions to avoid using a phrase for Saddam Hussein that was written as a "headline" in the "Al-Baath Sports" newspaper, warning against promoting the slogans of the banned Baath Party in the country.

On October 23, Shafaq News Agency monitored an official circular issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Education and directed to education directorates in all governorates, in which a saying of former regime President Saddam Hussein was used, titled "Sports renews the vitality of the individual, just as reading renews his thought."
Today, Monday, Shafaq News Agency obtained an official document signed by the Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Farhad Nimatullah Hussein, addressed to all ministries and entities not associated with a ministry and the governorates, titled "Using the slogans of the former regime".
Hussein said that the Iraqi National Security Service monitored, through social media, a book issued by an official government institution that included a quote belonging to the defunct regime, and at that time it was on the front page of Al-Baath Al-Riyadi newspaper.
And he emphasized the re-examination of slogans and phrases contained in the internal notes and external books issued, to avoid re-publication, usually using slogans belonging to the defunct regime and circulating them in official books as a media promotion for the banned Baath Party.

The official book did not reveal the content of that phrase, but a security source stated that that phrase included "Sports renews the individual's vitality, like reading renews his thought." It belongs to the regime of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
It is noteworthy that the phrase "Sport renews the vitality of the individual just as reading renews his thought" was at the forefront of the basic design of the front page of Al-Baath Al-Riyadi newspaper, under which was written the name of the former regime's president, Saddam Hussein, indicating that it was one of his quotes.
