    Information/Baghdad..
The Ministry of Water Resources confirmed today, Monday, that the campaign to remove abuses has achieved 40 percent of its goals, while indicating that the campaign is still continuing until all types of abuses are eliminated.
The ministry's spokesman, Khaled Shamal, said in an interview followed by Al-Maalouma Agency, that "the abuses on rivers are many, and they are the result of accumulations for many years," stressing that "the campaign to lift the violations is still continuing until now, and has achieved 40 percent of its goals."
He added, "The campaign to lift the abuses is carried out through coordination with the security forces of all kinds and with the Supreme Judicial Council," noting that "support for this campaign is great from Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani, who directed to limit the abuses and cooperate in resolving the issue."
He pointed out, "The response of citizens is not at the required level, and we need the support of all institutions, to motivate citizens to reduce, prevent and report cases of transgression, whether visible or invisible, and the media bears the responsibility of educating, raising awareness, conveying facts, guidance and monitoring, in addition to the importance of the cooperation of the legislative institution in this regard." .
He explained, "The cases of transgression on rivers are many and varied, including pollution associated with government institutions, and others are transgressions on river taboos, and most of them are related to private sector projects such as restaurants, forums, cafes, and places of a tourist nature, and some of them are related to water quotas, farmers, and irrigation projects, and this percentage is large and cumulative." And we are working to reduce it.” End/25
