Yesterday, Tuesday, the Iraqi Council of Ministers approved a draft law on private public university education, while deciding to contract with international companies regarding electricity.
According to a statement, a copy of which was received by Al-Sabah, the Council held its thirty-seventh regular session under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, where it approved the draft law on private public university education, which was reviewed by the State Council, and referred it to the House of Representatives, based on the provisions of the Constitution, Taking into consideration the confirmed observations of the Legal Department in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, provided that the percentage does not exceed 10 percent of the total admission, and amending the instructions of the Higher Education Fund, to ensure that the Ministry of Finance is informed of the accounts, expenses and revenues of the Fund.
He also approved the Ministry of Finance’s allocation of an amount of (3) billion dinars to the General Union of Writers and Writers in Iraq, based on the provisions of the General Union of Writers and Writers Law, and from emergency reserve allocations, based on the provisions of Article Six of the Federal General Budget Law for the three fiscal years.
The Council also approved contracts with Yokogawa and Hitachi to complete the work related to precision machinery and electricity, and Enromov to complete the work related to water transactions, using a single bid method for each of them, as an exception to the provisions of Article (3/Sixth) as they work as contractors. Secondaries with the main contractor, before withdrawing the work from him, and since the contracts related to the above companies are in the final stages of completion.
The Council of Ministers discussed the Ministry of Finance’s waiver and cancellation of the apartment sale allowance allocated, pursuant to Council of Ministers Resolution (1970) of 2009, to the family of the martyr (Othman Al-Obaidi), based on the provisions of the Federal Financial Management Law, and Council of Ministers Resolution (23447) of 2023.
