{Politics: Al-Furat News} The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, met today, Tuesday, with a delegation of the Civil Alliance headed by Mahmoud al-Ukaili, head of the Umma Party.
A statement from his office, a copy of which was received by Al-Furat News, said that the two sides "exchanged views on developments in the political scene in Iraq and the region and the inter-relationship between the civil coalition and the coalition of national state forces in light of the upcoming entitlements."
The statement added, "They stressed the importance of strengthening the forces of the state that believes in the state and is strengthened by its power, and the importance of the governorate councils and their elections, as they are a democratic and administrative entitlement, in addition to being the first elections to be held under a unified law with the parliamentary elections, in addition to the capabilities provided by the tripartite budget, which requires an efficient governorate council to be elected."
