A source in the Dhi Qar Governorate office reported today, Tuesday, that many corruption suspicions have been registered against the current governor, Muhammad Hadi Al-Ghazi.

The source said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “The governor of Dhi Qar, Muhammad Hadi Al-Ghazi, continues to exploit state resources for the purpose of marketing and promoting his electoral campaign amid the deteriorating service situation in all cities of the governorate.”
The source indicated, "There are investigation files against the governor of Dhi Qar, against the backdrop of suspicions of administrative and financial corruption, which are being examined by the competent courts."
He continued, "The government allocated a lot of money and established a special fund for the governorate's reconstruction, but it was exploited in other aspects and most of it went into the pockets of the corrupt."
The Integrity Commission had previously announced the issuance of an order to bring in the current governor of Dhi Qar, Muhammad Al-Ghazi, for exploiting his position and transferring a number of projects to a company he runs.End/25
