    The Ministry of Commerce announced today, Wednesday, that the campaign to sell foodstuffs at competitive prices will continue for more than a week, while specifying the items included in the campaign and their selling outlets.
    The ministry's spokesman, Muthanna Al-Fariji, added, "Minister of Trade Atheer Al-Ghurairi directed food companies, especially the General Foodstuff Company, to launch a campaign in Baghdad and all governorates to supply the market with basic foodstuffs."
    He said that the campaign will continue for more than a week and on a daily basis, as we will supply the local markets and citizens with basic materials, which are chicken, table eggs, yellow flour, sugar, oil, paste weighing 800 grams, and adult milk weighing 250 grams, explaining that these materials will be at a lower price than the local market.
    He stated, "The existing sales outlets are now 7 outlets in all governorates, distributed as 2 in Baghdad, one next to Rusafa, and one in Karkh, and the rest of the outlets are in each of the governorates of Nineveh, Maysan, Karbala, and Salah al-Din."
    He pointed out, "The campaign will be launched today from the Al-Hurriya Warehouse Complex to all governorates, and will continue until a price balance is created in the local market."
    He explained, "The campaign launched by the Minister of Commerce came after the reports he received through the Commercial and Financial Control Department and through the oversight teams deployed in the Iraqi market, which indicated that there was some increase in the prices of basic foodstuffs." 
    He pointed out that "food sources are from the private sector, but the level of profits is very low, and there is a portion of food at cost," explaining that "the target groups are all Iraqis, as our warehouse complexes in all governorates are frequented by agents and citizens, and they are accustomed to being... Selling in these centers.
