    Today, Wednesday, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi, stressed the need to focus on addressing development and industrial problems, while identifying four axes related to the Industrial Advisory Council.
    Al-Aboudi said, in his speech during the first conference of the Industrial Advisory Council in Iraqi universities, that “the holding of this conference came with the completion of the first year of the work of the Ministry of Higher Education and the establishment of qualitative achievements in terms of qualifying specialized scientific staff and conducting research to serve society.”
    He added, “It has become clear that the Ministry has achieved a tangible impact in these areas that is directly linked to development requirements and the institutions’ needs for expertise, technical consultations, and academic programs concerned with development and sustainable education,” indicating that “to complete the strategic vision and achieve its goals, institutions of higher education and scientific research must bridge relationships.” Cooperating with industrial environments and placing the universities’ steps in their appropriate context, which ultimately leads us to a scientific reading of the field of work, and institutions can measure indicators of interaction and congruence between the outputs of scientific departments and post-graduation paths.”
    He explained, "The response of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its institutions to development requirements and their possession of diverse scientific specializations are sufficient to achieve integration with public and private sector institutions, keep pace with market changes, and meet rapid scientific and technical developments."
    He added, “On this basis, one of the most important priorities of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is to focus on addressing development problems, especially industrial ones, by conducting applied research, developing scientific consultations, and enhancing the skills and training environment through cooperation with industrial institutions according to carefully studied programs.” So that the university degree awarded has content that is employable and successful.”
    He pointed out, "This first conference of the Industrial Advisory Council, which is one of the projects of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the government program, represents a government priority in supporting the sector and creating job opportunities by establishing appropriate climates that start from scientific knowledge as an effective tool in development and improvement."
    He continued, "In this conference, the Ministry is completing its strategic programs to achieve quality education, reduce the gap between outputs and labor market requirements, and move towards providing all sectors with expertise and specialized personnel."
    He continued, "These qualitative steps will enhance the positive results resulting from the decision to adopt the Bologna program, which is based on designing the qualifications framework and determining learning outcomes according to the requirements of the labor market and reading resulting from the partnership with private sector institutions."
    The Minister of Education stressed many axes, including the importance of intensifying postgraduate programs related to industrial, economic and development problems, as well as linking the curricula directly to the needs of industrial institutions and reviewing them on a regular basis to meet all the changes in the global environment.
    He pointed out, “Achieving more coordination and cooperation between universities, companies, sectoral ministries, unions and relevant organizations through industrial advisory councils in an effective, transparent and sustainable manner, in addition to recommending that labor market sectors cooperate with universities in order to transfer market requirements to curricula, academic programs and scientific research and agree on Fields of training and qualification.
