Audit Bureau: More than 5,000 financial reports will be issued in 2023

The head of the Financial Supervision Bureau, Ammar Subhi Khalaf, reported that more than 5,000 financial reports were issued during the current year.
Khalaf revealed, in an interview with “Al-Sabah,” that “the rate of annual reports issued by the Bureau ranges between 4-5 thousand reports related to financial statements, business results, and contract reports,” indicating that “the Bureau is determined to increase the impact of the reports during the next stage.”
He added, “The Bureau does not hunt for mistakes. Rather, the basis of its work depends on improving the institutions’ performance and raising its level. If it reaches a high level, we try to change the work plans to achieve excellent results.”
Khalaf stated, “The ultimate goal of this work is to serve the community,” pointing out that “there is a fully established qualitative plan during the year 2024.”
The head of the Bureau considered that “the financial investigation guide is an important basic step,” explaining that “investigators and judges are not specialized in financial matters, which requires the Bureau to intervene directly in this area when the financial investigator stops at a certain point.”
